Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Dhaka on a two-day visit to take part in the golden jubilee celebrations of Bangaldesh’s Independence and the birth centenary of Bagabandhu Sheik Mujibur Rahman.
He was received by his Bangladesh counterpart Sheik Hasina at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
PM Modi is scheduled to take part in various programmes and strengthen cooperation between the two nations.
“India shares deep cultural, linguistic and people-to-people ties with Bangladesh. I look forward to my participation at the National Day celebrations tomorrow, which will also commemorate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” said PM Modi on Thursday (March 25), before leaving for Bangladesh.
“My visit will not only be an occasion to convey appreciation for Bangladesh’s remarkable economic and developmental strides under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visionary leadership, but also to commit India’s abiding support for these achievements,” said the Prime Minister.
