The farmers on Friday (March 26) began their 12-hour long nationwide protest by blocking roads and national highways.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the umbrella body of farmers protest, announced about the Bharat Bandh, to mark the completion of 4 months of farmers’ agitation.
“The bandh will be observed from 6 am to 6pm. All shopping malls, markets and other institutions will remain closed under Bharat Bandh. Roads and trains will be blocked. All services except ambulances and other essential services will be suspended. The effect of Bandh will be observed inside Delhi as well,” Samyukta Kisan Moarcha said in a statement.
Farmers are protesting against the three new farm laws since last week of November, 2020. They have been protesting at Ghazipur, Singhu and Tikri borders from the past 4 months and said that their protest will go on for long until the three laws are repealed by the Central Government.
