West Bengal: Amit Shah condoles demise of 84-year old woman allegedly assaulted by TMC supporters

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday condoled the demise of 84-year old Shova Majumdar, who along with her son was assaulted brutally by some TMC supporters at her residence in North 24 Parganas district.

“Anguished over the demise of Bengal’s daughter Shova Majumdar ji, who was brutally beaten by TMC goons. The pain & wounds of her family will haunt Mamata didi for long. Bengal will fight for a violence-free tomorrow, Bengal will fight for a safer state for our sisters & mothers,” tweeted Amit Shah.

This incident happened last month and Shova Majumdar was admitted to a hospital for 3-4 days, she was undergoing treatment at her Nimta residence and fought for a month but succumbed to her injuries, primarily on her face.

She was assaulted on February 27 by TMC supporters while trying to save her son Gopal Majumdar, a BJP worker. Gopal who is in his late 50’s was physically challenged by birth.
