President Ram Nath Kovind has undergone a successful bypass surgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday (March 20) morning.
“He is stable and is being closely monitored by a team of senior doctors,” the President’s secretariat said in a statement.
The President was admitted at the Army Research and Referral Hospitalon March 26 after he felt chest discomfort. After keeping him under observation, he was referred to AIIMS or further checkup and he was later operated.
“The President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind has undergone a successful bypass surgery at AIIMS, Delhi. I congratulate the team of Doctors for successful operation. Spoke to Director AIIMS to enquire about Rashtrapatiji’s health. Praying for his well-being and speedy recovery,” tweeted Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
