Ahead of Puducherry Assembly Elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday (March 1) held a roadshow in Lawspet constituency where BJP president V. Saminathan is competing against Congress nominee Vaidiyanathan.
Before starting off for the roadshow, he offered prayers at Sithananda temple in Karuvadikuppam.
The roadshow started from Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Statue and continued till Sivaji Statue. A number of party workers followed Amit Shah on their motorcycles.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, and party candidates including V. Saminathan (Lawspet), A John Kumar ( Kamaraj Nagar), A. Namassivayam, ( Mannadipet), V. Richard (Nellithope) and Embalem Selvam ( Manaveli) and P. M. L. Kalyanasundaram ( Kalapet), accompanied Mr. Shah in the van.
Puducherry will see a single phase election on April 6 and the counting of votes will take place on May 2.
