The Government started COVID19 vaccination of all people above 45 years of age from today (April 1, 2021), irrespective of comorbidities.
This phase of vaccination will cover population which is at the highest risk, 90 per cent of deaths related to coronavirus in India have been in the category of those above the age of 45.
People who are eligible will be able to book appointments on the Co-Win portal and through Aarogya Setu app rom April 1.
The Centre has instructed all districts with high caseloads to achieve 100 per cent vaccination in the next two weeks.
Earlier, COVID vaccinations in the country were given to beneficiaries above 45 years of age with comorbidities, individuals aged 60 years and above, health care workers and front line workers.
