West Bengal Assembly Elections Phase 2 Polling for 30 assembly seats including Nandigram has ended.
Over 80 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 5.30 PM. Highest voting has been recorded in Bankura with 82.78 per cent and lowest in Paschim Medinipur with 78.05 percent.
Purbo Medinipur recorded 81.23 per cent turnout and South 24 Parganas 79.66 per cent. Nandigram, where chief minister Mamata Banerjee is contesting against Suvendu Adhikari, recorded 80.79 per cent turnout.
The situation was tense in a few areas. A BJP worker was found hanging at his home in Nandigram in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur district today (April 1), triggering tension in the area amid the high-profile election.
