Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly Elections to be held on Tuesday (April 6), 832 companies of central security forces have been deployed to ensure a peaceful election.
Out of these, 214 Quick Response Teams will be present in the third phase. The 31 Assembly constituencies are in three districts — Howrah, Hooghly and South 24 Parganas. There are 205 candidates in fray in 31 seats of which 8 are located in Hooghly district, 7 in Howrah and 16 constituencies in South 24 Parganas district.
A total of 307 companies have been deployed in the South 24 Paraganas, 167 companies have beem deployed in rural areas of Hooghly and 144 companies have been deployed in Howrah district.
