Around 53.89 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 1:30 pm as the polling for the third phase of West Bengal elections is underway.
The polling started at 7am and will continue till 6 pm. The 31 Assembly constituencies are in three districts — Howrah, Hooghly and South 24 Parganas. There are 205 candidates in fray in 31 seats of which 8 are located in Hooghly district, 7 in Howrah and 16 constituencies in South 24 Parganas district.
There are 205 candidates in the fray in this round of polling out of which only 13 women candidates are contesting.
The fourth phase of polling will take place on April 10. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
