Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
The Chief Minister’s daughter Ms Veena Vijayan also tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. The Chief Minister will be admitted to the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital, an official press release said.
The COVID test was conducted on the Chief Minister after her daughter was diagnosed with the COVID. Chief Minister got his first dose of vaccine done on March 3. He had travelled extensively across Kerala to campaign for LDF candidates.
Kerala is averaging around 3500 cases everyday and the state leads the Vaccination drive among the Southern states.
Presently, doctors from Kozhikode Medical College and Hospital are treating the Chief Minister. If required, a group of specialists will be brought in from the state capital Tiruvananthapuram.
