Following the rise in the Covid cases in the state, the Maharashtra government has decided to further strengthen and expand the existing health infrastructure.
Mumbai Guardian Minister Aslam Shaikh on Monday told the media persons that the government has now decided to add 5,300 new beds and 3 new Covid facilities.
Meanwhile, 70 per cent of beds will have oxygen support while remaining will be in the ICU (intensive care unit) and have ventilator support.
Ahead of Gudi Padwa, Ram Navmi, Ramzan and other upcoming festivals, Mr Shaikh has urged the people to strictly follow the Covid-19 norms and the standard operating procedures.
