ujarat Chief Minister Office (CMO) on Thursday announced that the state government has decided to postpone the board examination of Class X and XII in the wake of the resurgence of Covid-19 cases.
The CMO also said that the students of Class I to IX and XI will be promoted to the next standard.
‘In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Gujarat Govt decides to postpone Class 10 & 12 board examinations, scheduled to be held between May 10 to 25, and mass promotion for students of std 1 to 9 & 11 (sic),’ the CMO tweeted.
The new dates for the X and XII examination will be announced after reviewing the coronavirus situation on May 15, the CMO added.
On Wednesday, the Union Ministry of Education canceled Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) board examination for Class X while postponed it for Class XII.
Gujarat recorded the highest spike of 7,410 fresh COVID-19 cases and a record 73 deaths on Wednesday.
