Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur on Thursday blasted the Congress party for its ‘policies of appeasement’ towards the leftists and asked its leader Rahul Gandhi to clarify what was the real position of the party towards the leftists.
While addressing a function of the Panchayati Raj functionaries of the party hailing from Bhoranj block of the district at Dhamrol village, he said that it was not understood on one hand it was sharing seats in West Bengal with the left parties and on other hand it was opposing them in Kerala. This characteristic of the Congress party was not understood but proved that it was only after the power and had no love and faith for the masses.
He expressed optimism that despite let loose operations of the Mamta Banerjee and Congress party, the BJP would win more than 200 seats in West Bengal and form its government there.
Thakur exhorted the party workers to be vigilant of the nefarious designs of the Congress party and its leaders stating that they had no character.
“Their main aim is to win the elections by hook and crook but this will not materialize this time,” the BJP leader added.
