Belagavi: Nearly 54.02 pc voters exercised their franchise in Belagavi Lok Sabha bypoll on Saturday.
According to Deputy Commissioner and election officer Dr. K Harishkumar, out of a total of 18,13,567 voters 9,79,693 voters exercised their franchise.
The polling was commenced at 0700 hrs and ended at 1900 hrs.
The election to the Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency was necessitated following the death of Union minister
Suresh Angadi due to coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in September 2020.
Ten candidates were in the fray. Late Suresh Angadi’s wife Mangala Angadi was the BJP candidate while Sathish Jarkiholi contested for Congress.
