Tirupati: Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavam of Sri Kodandaramaswami temple at Vontimitta in YSR Kadapa district commenced on Wednesday with Dwajarohanam fete in Mithuna lagnam between 9.15 AM and 10.15 AM.
In view of the Covid guidelines, the nine-day fete will be observed till April 29 in Ekantham and darshan for devotees had already been stopped.
The Chief priest of the temple Kankana Bhattar Rakesh Kumar supervised the ritual.
As part of tradition, on the first day of Brahmotsavam, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board member and Rajampet MLA Meda Mallikarjun Reddy along with his spouse presented Pattu Vastrams to Sri Kodandaramaswami.
The Utsava Idols of Sri Rama, Sita Lakshmana sameta will bless devotees on Sesha Vahanam to be held in Ekantham in the evening.
Legends say that Adisesha, the favourite carrier of Maha Vishnu, incarnated as Lakshmana during Tretayuga to serve His beloved Master who took the form of Sri Rama.
