Prohibitory orders clamped in 16 more LSG bodies in Malappuram district

Malappuram:   In order to contain the spread of Covid-19 and to help reduce the burden on the health care authorities, who are struggling to cope up with the surge, Collector has clamped prohibitory orders in 16 more Local Self Government (LSG) bodies in this district.

Prohibitory orders are already in force in 8 LSG bodies in this district since April 21.

The order, issued by the District Collector K Sreenivas, restricted public gathering, round-the-clock, in Nannammukku, Muthuvalloor, Chelembra, Vazhayur, Thirunnavaaya, Pothukal, Othukkungal, Thanalur, Nannambra, Oorakam, Wandoor, Pulpetta, Veliyamcode, Alamcode, Vettam and Peruvalloor LSG bodies.

The Prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC will be in force till April 30 and it will come into effect from 9 PM tonight.

Restrictions will be effective from 9 PM till 5 AM the next day, in other parts of the district, the order said.

The eight LSG bodies where prohibitory orders are already in force are: Cheekode, Cherukav, Pallikkal, Pulikkal, Morayur, Mangalam and Porur Grama Panchayats and Kondotty Municipality.
