New Delhi: BJP has announced a list of 16 candidates for Rajya Sabha polls. This is the first list for eight States. Election will be taking place on 10 June, necessitated by the retirement of 57 members. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is a nominee from Karnataka and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, from Maharashtra.
The list includes Laxmikant Vajpayee and Radha Mohan Agarwal from Uttar Pradesh, Surendra Nagar, Baburam Nishad, Darshana Singh, Sangeetha Yadav, Ghanshyam Tiwari from Rajasthan, Kalpana Saini from Uttarakhand, Satish Chandra Dube from Bihar, Shambhu Saran Patel from Bihar, Krishan Lal Panwal from Haryana, Kavitha Patidar from Madhya Pradesh, Jaggesh from Karnataka, Anil Bonda from Maharashtra.
Polls are to be held for five seats from Bihar, four from Karnataka, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, three from Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, two from Punjab, Jharkhand, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Thelangana and for one seat from Uttarakhand.
