Alappuzha: Bail pleas of Popular Front district President Navas Vandanam and Ansar Najeeb were rejected today. Navas was the organiser of the alleged rally in which a boy raised communally volatile slogans against Hindus and Christians. Ansar Najeeb, the third accused in the case and a resident of Erattupetta in Kottayam, was the one who took the minor boy on his shoulder while taking part in the rally in coastal Alappuzha on May 21.
One more person was arrested related to the case last day. A special investigation team headed by Alappuzha Deputy Police superintendent , arrested Popular Front’s Kochi unit secretary Siddique. 28 people have been arrested so far.
