Pune: The Pune Police department has decided to extend their working hours on behalf of the rising number of road accidents. The aim is to control the over speed and to reduce the traffic block. The Traffic Branch of Pune city police will be working in three shifts until 2 am .
The decision has been taken on the basis of the increasing road accidents during the night time, said Amitabh Gupta, the Commissioner of Police.
The number of vehicles is increasing at night due to parties. In view of this situation, the working hours of the police have been increased to ensure more security. Earlier, the working hours of the traffic police were till 9 pm and the staff are now working late at night in densely populated areas.
