New Delhi: India urges the United Nations to not take a double stand when dealing with religious issues. It is not fair to condemn selectively. The hate against non – Abrahamic religions also need to get due consideration, said the representative of India, T.S.Thirumoorthy
He said that India is the biggest victim of terrorism; especially terror activities across the borders are comparatively higher. He said, in order to curb terrorism, the world nations must be ready to develop an educational syllabus with principles of pluralism and democracy.
India urged the support of the international societies to deal with issues not only against the Abrahamic religions but also against other religions including Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism.
He emphasized that the nation has already transformed to a safe shelter for Jewish, Zoroastrian, Tibetan or people from its own neighbourhood.
India’s statement comes hours before the Kabul Gurudwara was attacked by IS. Two people were killed and at least seven were injured in the attack. After the incident, The Minister of External Affairs of India, S. Jaisankar said the world nations should condemn the cowardly act.
