New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins his two-day visit to Karnataka, today. Foundation stone for numerous projects including railways will be laid and inauguration of some programme too is in the schedule. International Yoga Day celebrations scheduled in and around Bengaluru.
The PM will continue in the state till tomorrow.
During his visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP), as a step towards increasing mobility and improving connectivity in Bengaluru. This project will improve the facility to connect the capital city with satellite townships and suburbs. PM will dedicate India’s first air-conditioned railway station, Sir M. Visvesvaraya Railway Station at Baiyappanahalli, in another major event.
As per the programmes scheduled by the Prime Minister`s Office, PM will lay the foundation stone for multiple infra projects in Karnataka including the Bengaluru Ring Road project in two sections as part of several infrastructure projects announced in the state and also lay the foundation for the project announced to reduce traffic block in the city.
Meanwhile, PM Modi will also lay the stone of other important road projects like the six-lane of the Nelamangala-Tumkur section of NH-48, the widening of the Punjalkatte-Charmadi section of NH-73 and the rehabilitation and upgradation of a section of NH-69.
To inaugurate the new campus, PM Modi will visit Dr BR Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) University in Bengaluru . As per the PMO office report, the redevelopment of Bengaluru Cantt and Yesvantpur Junction railway stations are also there in his scheduled programme list.
The PM will inaugurate multiple rail and road infrastructure projects worth over Rs 27000 crore in Kommaghatta and will attend a public function at Maharaja’s College Ground in Mysuru. At All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, PM will dedicate the ‘Centre of Excellence for persons with communication disorders’
He will return to Mysore this evening after visiting the Chamundi Temple.
