Thiruvananthapuram: The Director General of Police has directed police officials to avoid religious symbols from police vehicles. DGP’s order came amid the controversy of displaying Islamic religious sticker in a police vehicle at Pampa. DGP has also ordered to take action against those who put up such stickers over vehicles. The order says to remove all such stickers today itself.
Letters and symbols mentioning caste, religion, personal as well as political affiliations cannot be displayed in police vehicles. The act of displaying Islamic religious symbol sticker has tarnished the force and hence, if there is any such sticker in any police vehicle, that should be removed within no time. The order also suggests to send a detailed report regarding this before 5 pm tomorrow.
The warning also makes it clear that such incidents must not happen again. And if at all such matter occurs, the driver and the official will be equally responsible.
The police vehicle, displaying crescent and star sticker, reached Pampa last day and the news was delivered by Janam T V.
