Mumbai: As Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray could not survive the storm raised by dissident MLA Eknath Shinde, the former has announced his willingness to resign.

He announced his decision through Facebook live.

“Ready to resign if the need arises. There is no excessive desire for power. I never stepped back from Hindutva. Shiv Sena and Hindutva are two sides of a coin.” Thackeray said emotionally.

Uddhav said he was ready to resign if dissidents did not want him. He said he already drafted his resignation letter.

He also announced he would resign immediately if at least one MLA voted against him.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Rawat gives hints that the government is on the edge of destruction and it will perish if the dissidents withdraw their support.

Thackeray’s announcement was through Facebook as he tested Covid positive recently.
