New Delhi: Central Government is ready to prepare E-Passport as part of assuring simpler and safer trips. The announcement came out on the Passport Seva Divas. The Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar said that the E-Passport can prevent theft of personal information of the passengers.
The minister said that it is a great joy to announce this service for the citizens on June 24th that has been celebrated as Passport Seva Divas.
Passport distribution authorities of India and other nations had participated in the meeting.
It is announced that the new and advanced PSPV 2.0 edition will be introduced to ensure a digital ecosystem among the people and to provide better passport services. The E-Passport system will connect with Digi locker facilities to ensure the storage of paper less information and also clarifies it would use artificial intelligence and chat-boats.
