Thiruvananthapuram: There is an alert for heavy rain in Kerala today. A yellow alert has been issued to eight districts following a warning issued by the meteorological department. The continuing heavy rain is a sign of the monsoon getting stronger.
North-Central Kerala is likely to receive heavy rainfall today. A Yellow alert has been issued to Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Other districts will receive isolated rainfall but no alert messages have sent so far.
The meteorological department warns that the rainfall will continue in the upcoming days and a yellow alert has been issued to several districts tomorrow and day after tomorrow.
Due to the heavy rainfall, fishing will be banned for three days from today. Fishermen advised not to venture into the Kerala – Lakshadweep coast until the release of a further notice.
