Police have arrested the accused after two weeks. Police faced criticism from media too for not arresting the culprits who had vandalized the statue of Gandhi. However, non bailable case has been registered against the two.
The incident took place on 13 June in Payyannur, after the protest against CM Pinarayi Vijayan on aircraft. Congress Block Committee office’s doors and windows too were damaged in the attack.
Congress had earlier warned that if no action is taken against the accused, huge protests including march to DYSP office will be held.
