Kochi: Film actor and associate director Ambika Rao has passed away. She breathed her last on Monday at 10:30 pm.
She has performed in various roles that marked her notable talent in acting. She has also worked as an associate director in the Malayalam film industry.
She had been under treatment for last two years due to kidney failure. Recently she got admitted to the hospital following the Covid infection and succumbed to death last night due to a heart attack.
She was a part of the Malayalam film industry for the last two decades. Her debut film, Krishna Gopalakrishna was directed by Balachandra Menon. Her initial entry was in the role of an associate director and worked in several movies including Thommanum Makkalum, Salt and Pepper and Rajamanikyam. She has performed in several movies including Virus, Kumbalangi Nights and Meeshamadhavan.
She has been living in Rameshwara Bhavan at Thrissur, near Thiruvambadi temple. She has two children, Rahul and Sohan.
