Mumbai: The Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has given instructions to the Thackeray Government to prove the majority before 5 pm tomorrow. The order was issued following a letter given by the opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis and 8 independent MLAs, in which they say Maha Vikas Aghadi has now turned to a minority government.
Meanwhile, it is learned that the Maha Vikas Aghadi has decided to approach the Supreme Court against the Governor’s decision. There is an indication that senior advocates Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Rajeev Dhavan and Devdutt Kamath are expected to appear for the government.
Currently, all the BJP MLAs are staying in Mumbai. Shiv Sena Balasaheb MLAs, staying in Guwahati, will leave Assam today and are expected to reach assembly tomorrow.
As per reports, BJP has already confirmed the support of 170 MLAs in Maharashtra assembly.
