Mumbai: The BJP and the CM Eknath Shinde have proved their strength in Maharashtra. NDA candidate Rahul Narwekar has won with a majority of 164 votes in which he needed just 145.
The election was conducted through an open voting system.
The Samajwadi Party did not participate in the election. Abu Azmi and Rais Shaikh, MLAs of Samaj Wadi Party were on their seats while the election was held. Rajan Salwi was the candidate of Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition.
Meanwhile, Aditya Thackeray informed that Shiv Sena’s legislative party office has been closed.
“We have closed Shiv Sena’s legislative party office and the key is with us. They had locked some of our MLAs. What is the big deal in closing the office?”, said Adithya Thackerey.
