Kanjangad: Heavy rain continues for the last three days in Kasaragod. Due to heavy rain, the rivers have overflown and the low-lying areas are affected with flood.
The district administration said to be cautious as there is a possibility of landslides in the hilly areas.
The taluk tahsildars were given the responsibility to ensure the security of people living in flood prone and low-lying areas. The district collector Bhandari Swagat Ranveerchand has ordered to start 24 hour control rooms immediately and the responsibility of this is given to the Deputy tahsildar and the junior superintendent.
Meanwhile, heavy rain is continuing in the hilly areas of the district. Tejaswini and Chaitravahini rivers overflown at many places. The Konnakkad Ashokachal -Chemmattamchal Bridge flooded.
Due to heavy rain, the district collector has announced holiday for all educational institutions except professional colleges. Several houses have been damaged by wind and heavy rain. A warning message was given to the people as the sea is likely to be rough
