Soon after the meeting, Saji Cheriyan responded to reporters and asked ” why should I resign?”. “I have already told everything last day”, he added.

CPM leaders conducted an emergency meeting as Saji Cheriyan’s anti constitutional remarks ended up in massive protests. As per the report, the meeting reached in the decision as if the minister resigns now, that will tarnish the  party, and so , no need of resignation for the time being.

Last day the minister tried to correct his contentious statement and told as he was not criticising the constitution.

Meantime, huge protests erupted from several parts of the state soon after Saji Cheriyan’s anti constitutional statement. Yuvamorcha conducted a march to Chengannur MLA office. The protests will be going on till his resignation. BJP leaders informed that minister’s resignation is the only solution for such a grave mistake. The opposition parties demand is to make a special order to file a police case against Saji Cheriyan.
