Met issues ‘orange’ alert for many districts in Telangana

Hyderabad, July 14 (UNI) Sounding an ‘orange’ alert this afternoon, Meteorological Centre here said that Heavy to Very Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in eight districts of Telangana during the next 24 hours.

It said heavy to very heavy rain is very likely to occur in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla and Karimnagar districts.

Met said heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Suryapet, Mahabubabad,Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Kamareddy districts of the state during the same period.

Gusty winds with wind speed of 30-40 KMPH is likely to prevail in Telangana.

Light to moderate Rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur at most places over the state on July 14 and till 0830 hours on Friday.

There will be generally cloudy sky in Hyderabad and light to moderate rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur in the city.

Meanwhile, Meteorological Centre, Amaravati today said yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over South Coastal Odisha & neighbourhood now lies over north odisha & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

The monsoon trough now passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Sagar, Jabalpur, Pendra road, center of Low Pressure Area over north Odisha & neighborhood and thence southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.

The east-west shear zone now runs roughly along 19?N between 3.1 km & 7.6 km above mean sealevel across North Peninsular India, Met added.
