PM inaugurates Bundelkhand Expressway

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bundelkhand Expressway. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the PM when he arrived at Kanpur Airport. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted that he is on the way to Jalaun to attend the inaugural function.

“16th July is a special day for my sisters and brothers of the Bundelkhand region. At a programme in Jalaun district, the Bundelkhand Expressway will be inaugurated. This project will boost the local economy and connectivity”. PM tweeted

After laying the foundation stone of the 4th Expressway in UP, the Yogi Government has completed the project 8 months ahead of the date of the inauguration. The work was completed within 28 months under The Expressway Industrial Development Authority, UP.

Currently the Expressway, worth Rs 14,850 crore rupees, has 4 lanes and it can be extended upto 6 lanes in the future.

“The state-of-the-art Bundelkhand Expressway passes through 7 districts. The local economy will benefit tremendously due to it. There will be great industrial development in the region and this would bring more opportunities for the local youth” PM added in his tweet.

The Bundelkhand Expressway passes through 7 districts of UP namely Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya, Etawah and will end in Gonda village near Bharatkoot region in Chitrakoot district. The total expense of the project is calculated to be around 15,000 crore but the Yogi government finished the work by saving 1132 crore through e-tendering.
