New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) declared its support to the opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha in
the Presidential election that is scheduled to take place on Monday.
“We respect Draupadi Murmu but the party’s decision is to support Yashwant Sinha in the presidential election”, said the senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh. This has put an end to the doubt as to whom the AAP will support.
AAP has 156 MLAs from three states and 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from 2 states including 3 members from Delhi.
Meanwhile, as the date of the election is approaching, several leaders, irrespective of party, came forward supporting Draupadi Murmu, the Presidential candidate of NDA.
Parties like BJD, YSR-CP, BSP, AIADMK, TDP, Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena, JMM and JDS have already announced their support to Draupadi Murmu.
