Mumbai: Verbal altercation occurred between the police and some candidates of NEET exam. The students entered the exam hall by wearing Hijab, a head covering worn by Muslim women.

The incident took place in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

The arguments occurred following an order issued by the police to remove Hijab for writing the exam. Later, the exam controller was called and the students got entry only after signing willingness to take over the responsibility of all issues that might appear at the time of the exam.

The students came without following the dress code instructions that had already been published by the NEET authority. It was also directed that the students who are wearing religious or cultural dress should report to the centre for checking at least 2 hours prior to the commencement of the exam.
