Chhattisgarh: Sonipath sessions court has ordered 10 year imprisonment to a Nihang Sikh origin who attacked a native in the background of arguments on farmers bill. Manprit, a Khali native, attacked the youngster in the midst of the protests.
Apart from the imprisonment, the culprit has to pay a fine of Rs 5000.
The incident took place in April last year.
Shekhar, a native of Kundil region was subjected to the attack. Shekhar and his friend were blocked by the protestors while returning from the office . Following the arguments Manprit attacked Shekhar using a knife and the latter was severely injured.
The imprisonment and fine were issued by Ajay Pashar, Judge in the District Sessions Court.
The court also mentioned that if the fine is not paid, the accused will be imprisoned for nine more months imprisonment.
