New Delhi: Droupadi Murmu- the name has been written forever in the history as she becomes the first tribal President of India. She is the first ever President from the state Odisha.
Murmu has defeated her opponent Yashwant Sinha. The counting of votes began at 11 am today. During the first round of counting, Murmu received the support of 540 MPs. And her opponent Yashwant Sinha, 208 votes. In the second round, she bagged 1349 votes and Sinha, 537. And in the third round, Droupadi Murmu got 812 and Yashwant Sinha, 531 votes.
