Thiruvananthapuram: The Enforcement Directorate is conducting inspection at CSI headquarters in the district. The raid is on the basis of case related to the Karakkonam Medical College. ED had earlier registered case on money laundering.
It was alleged that huge amount of money was collected offering medical seats, and the authorities denied to give admissions. Bishop Dharmaraj Rasalath had told the exam supervisory committee that they have been collecting money since 2016.
Including 14 students outside Kerala, the institute cheated 24 students and accumulated lakhs of rupees as bribe for seats. Its reported that up to 92 lakh rupees was collected in the name of medical seats.
The students, filed a plea alleging that the interrogation is not efficient and so the High Court ordered Crime Branch enquiry.
