Kochi: Police have recorded the arrest of YouTuber Sooraj Palakkaran today, following his surrender at Ernakulam South station. Police had filed a case against the YouTuber in connection with the compliant filed by a woman alleging derogatory remarks on her .
Police took the accused before the court and requested for his custody as the investigating team have to take the accused to various places including Adimali for collecting more evidences.
Police had earlier conducted search at Sooraj’s house based on the woman’s complaint. Sooraj had gone incommunicado earlier and surrendered before the Ernakulam South police this morning. Court had dismissed his anticipatory bail plea.
The court granted the request for police custody and the accused is remanded for 14 days.
