Thrissur: The results of the 22 year old man, died with monkeypox symptoms in Thrissur, are expected to receive today form National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha. The man reached his native place from UAE and later admitted to hospital in critical condition.
Though he had monkeypox symptoms, no boils were there in his body. The infection attacked the brain and he suffered febrile seizures and high fever. He was tested positive in the UAE but did not reveal about the infection to doctors in Kerala.
Health Minister Veena George has ordered thorough enquiry. The man went to a private hospital in Ernakulam after returning from UAE. Later, on 27 July, he moved to another private hospital in Thrissur. His condition worsened on 27 and died on Saturday.
