Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rain continues in the state. A red alert has been issued for 7 districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Idukki and orange alert in districts including Thrissur, Malappuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) observed that all districts are expected to face strong wind of 55 km/ hr in the next 3 hours and severe weather conditions are likely in all districts in Kerala.
So far six deaths have been reported in the state due to rains. The district collector has instructed the people living on the banks to move on to safe places, in case of rising water level in Chalakudy River.
Heavy rain continues in Kannur too. A child has gone missing after falling on the main road and a landslide occured in the rubber plantation at Kotukappalli Estate in Kottayam.
