New Delhi: Central government to take strict actions on Chinese companies that have evaded taxes. It is found that the companies including Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi have evaded taxes. The minister informed the parliament that a notice has been sent to these companies regarding the same.
A notice of 4,389 crore rupees was sent to Oppo company that evaded tax by giving wrong information. Minister said that the company had deceived 2,981 crore rupees. The notice was issued by the Revenue Intelligent Department.
A notice has been sent to Xiaomi and Vivo in which the former has evaded 635 crore rupees. Vivo has received a notice of 2,217 crore rupees.
The minister said that the details of 18 other companies that formed by Vivo are being verified.
The foreign companies that are not punctual in paying taxes cannot function in India. The Government will examine the reply given by each company, says the Minister.
She also warned that the companies will be liable to face more procedures if they are not willing to pay the tax.
