Birmingham: India won gold medal in Commonwealth men’s table tennis. The Indian team retained the medal by defeating Singapore with a score 3-1 in the final round. The men’s team won the medal following the victory of the women’s team in lawn bawls.
With this, the total number of India’s gold medal count in Commonwealth games raised to eleven including 5 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze.
The Indian table tennis team have won gold by dominating throughout in the Birmingham games. They entered the quarter final after gaining victory over Barbados and Northern Ireland.
India won the finals after defeating Bangladesh in quarters and Nigeria in semi finals.
