New Delhi: Police arrested a young man from Delhi Airport who tried to smuggle dollars worth 15.5 lakh rupees. The culprit hid the dollars inside papad, an Indian flatbread made with lentil flour. He was caught in the middle of his journey to Bangkok from India. The DISF officers have found him from the airport.
He was about to travel from Indira Gandhi Airport to Bangkok. 19,900 US dollars were seized when he underwent a body examination. It has also been found from the boxes that were labelled as spices.
The culprit has been handed over to customs authorities. The CISF officers also said that the young passenger did not have any of the required documents to carry such a huge amount of money.
