Lucknow: Allahabad High Court has rejected the bail of Malayalee journalist Siddhique Kappan’s bail. Kappan was imprisoned for creating communal tension in Hathras in background of the death of a girl who had been raped and killed. The final decision of the court was taken after observing that the charges against Kappan were serious.
The hearing on the bail was completed on Tuesday. After carefully analysing the statements, the court issued the final statement yesterday. They approached the High Court’s Lucknow bench when the court rejected the bail that had been submitted earlier.
A bench headed by Justice Krishna Pahal heard the petition.
Siddhique Kappan and his group were arrested in 2020 when they reached Hathras to organise revolts. After that, the police had found that Kappan and his gang have terrorist connections and they even raised foreign funds for the same.
With this, serious sections including UAPA were imposed on them.
Kappan approached Madhura Court for bail but later went to High court when the bail was rejected.
