Lucknow: It is reported that AIDS has been transmitted to people who have received tattoos in a cheap rate. The incident took place in a parlour at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
People with fever and other ailments had consulted doctors in various hospitals. They were given various medicines but the disease did not get cured. They were tested for typhoid and malaria, but could not diagnose the disease. Later, the doctors got confused and discovered a shocking report when the patients were tested for HIV.
It was found that none of the AIDS patients have recently received blood or had sexual intercourse. The Doctors found that all of them have tattoos in common and all the patients got their tattoos from the same parlour.
Patients said that it is a place where tattoos are given at low prices. 14 people including a 20-year-old man from Baragaon and a 25-year-old woman from Nagma have been infected with the disease.
It is estimated that the same needle was used in all of them that caused the spread of the disease.
Tattoo needles are expensive. So, some of the tattoo artists often secretly use the same needles to save money.
Police investigation on the incident is in progress.
