Birmingham: Amit Panghal won gold in boxing after Neetu Ghanghas. Amit chased gold in the men’s 51 kg category at the Commonwealth Games. Amit Panghal, who failed to win a medal in the Tokyo Olympics, defeated the England player Kiaran Macdonald in Birmingham.
Eventhough the crowd around the ring was in support to England player, Amit could defeat the opposite competitor to 5-0. Amit entered into final by defeating Tokyo Olympics winner in semi-finals. He is the native of Rohtak District, Haryana. Amit started his career by achieving Bronze in 2017 Asian Championship. After that, Amit raised the nation’s hopes by winning silver in the 2018 Commonwealth Games and gold in the Asian Games.
