Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan expressed his unwillingness to obey Pinarayi Government’s order. He clarified his opinion in the context of expiration of 11 ordinance including the lokayuktha amendment. Governor severely criticised the Government and also warned that the ordinance administration is not good.
It takes time to study about the ordinance and it is not possible to sign it without a detailed analysis, says Khan.
He also said that he will accept the ordinance only after receiving appropriate explanations from the Government.
The Governor said that the Government should uphold the democratic values. He replied that currently he has nothing to say about the Government’s action on grabbing his authority in the appointment of the Vice Chancellor.
The Government is under pressure after the Governor clarified his position in the ordinance.
Arif Muhammad Khan has formed a search committee bypassing the Government’s order and is remaining firm in his decision to not sign the ordinance.
With this, the ordinance made by the Government will be cancelled and the old lokayuktha law will come into force.
This will make the case in lokayuktha against the CM, on diverting the relief fund, more decisive.
