Vrindavan: This time 501 Rakhis along with 75 tricolors have been sent to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi by widows living in Vrindavan on the festival of Rakshabandhan.
Till last few years, some widows used to visit PM’s house to tie Rakhi on the day of Raksha Bandhan. But for the last two years they could not go to tie rakhi to the Prime Minister due to the COVID crisis. This time the Prime Minister’s office has been contacted and on getting permission, some widows could go to the Prime Minister to tie Rakhi.
Widows living in the ashram of Vrindavan have prepared special rakhis with images of Modiji and are also sending 75 tricolours along with them.
Rakhis with color photos of Prime Minister Modi have been prepared by Widows living in Maa Sharda and Radhatila Ashrams in Vrindavan.
Every year a program of making Rakhi for widows is organized by Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, the founder of Sulabh International and a well-known social reformer, and today the same event was done in Maa Sharda Ashram.
Today widows have decorated the Rakhi made by them in two baskets and are sending it to Delhi for the Prime Minister. By the representative of Sulabh that tomorrow these Rakhi will be delivered to PMO.
