New Delhi: India is searching for new ways in waste disposal. The PM will inaugurate the Ethanol Plant at 4:30 pm today through video conference on the occasion of World Bio Fuel Day. The second generation ethanol plant will be inaugurated at Panipat in Haryana.
The plant has been made with an approximate cost of 100 crore rupees. By using technologies, the plant will produce around three crore litre of ethanol from two tonnes of straw on an yearly basis.
The PM clarified that such a plant is being implemented for enhancing the production and usage of Biofuels.
Avoiding burning straws can help to reduce 3 lakh tonnes of carbon emission in 10 years. The use of the leftover seeds will help the farmers to gain extra income too. Many people will get employment in the plant for cutting and storing the straws.
